Let it rain. We all have our own tough stuff. If you know something—anything at all—is diminishing your happiness or draining your energy, set a timer. Or take a day off. Take whatever time you can to emerse yourself in whatever it is…let it rain. Let it take you over. It’s okay to feel sad or to experience grief or to miss a phase of your life that has come to a close. It’s okay. When you’re overwhelmed and your chest feels heavy ask yourself what you want to learn from what you’re feeling. Even if it’s as simple as, “I want to let it go but I don’t want to forget”, you’re getting somewhere.
The more that we push heartache or discomfort out of our minds, the more it takes over our body and affects our energy. Then we begin to look at any form of discomfort or pain as a huge negative ordeal…the interesting thing is that pain and discomfort can be so positive and do so much good for us if we use it in the right way. Because the more we allow ourselves to experience pain and sadness, the more we naturally experience happiness and joy and peace. So let it rain. Let it go. Forgive yourself. You have nothing to lose.
